Ils aident les agriculteurs \u00e0 nourrir la population croissante.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignwide narrow\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aper\u00e7u<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-extra-large-font-size\">Les plantes ont besoin de 17 nutriments essentiels pour survivre et grandir. Pour fabriquer des engrais azot\u00e9s, il faut extraire l\u2019azote de l\u2019air et le transformer en ammoniac en le combinant avec de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne. On peut utiliser l\u2019ammoniac de deux fa\u00e7ons : en l\u2019appliquant directement sur les cultures ou comme ingr\u00e9dient entrant dans la composition de produits d\u2019engrais azot\u00e9s. Le phosphore est pr\u00e9sent partout dans le corps, mais en quantit\u00e9 plus concentr\u00e9e dans les dents et les os. Celui qui entre dans la composition des engrais vient de roches phosphat\u00e9es g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement extraites de la croute terrestre, que l\u2019on fait r\u00e9agir avec divers acides pour obtenir diff\u00e9rents produits phosphat\u00e9s. Pour rester en bonne sant\u00e9, il faut un apport suffisant de potassium; dans le cas des plantes, cet apport vient des engrais potassiques. Dans les v\u00e9g\u00e9taux, le potassium sert \u00e0 la photosynth\u00e8se, \u00e0 la formation des prot\u00e9ines et \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019eau. Le potassium, ou la potasse, est extrait de corps min\u00e9ralis\u00e9s qui se sont form\u00e9s naturellement, par \u00e9vaporation de l\u2019eau de mer. Ces d\u00e9p\u00f4ts renferment un m\u00e9lange de cristaux de chlorure de potassium et de chlorure de sodium, \u00e9galement appel\u00e9 sel de table. Apr\u00e8s son extraction et sa s\u00e9paration du m\u00e9lange, le chlorure de potassium est un engrais granul\u00e9. Comme nous qui avons besoin d\u2019aliments en quantit\u00e9 et qualit\u00e9 suffisante pour grandir et rester en bonne sant\u00e9, les v\u00e9g\u00e9taux et les cultures doivent trouver dans le sol les nutriments n\u00e9cessaires pour bien pousser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-extra-large-font-size\">Les plantes ont besoin d\u2019un apport \u00e9quilibr\u00e9 d\u2019azote, de phosphore, de potassium et de soufre. Les engrais peuvent \u00e9galement compl\u00e9ter le fumier ou le compost pour assurer un apport \u00e9quilibr\u00e9 de nutriments. Fertilisants Canada insiste sur l\u2019importance de g\u00e9rer et d\u2019\u00e9quilibrer l\u2019apport de nutriments pour \u00e9viter de fertiliser trop ou pas assez la terre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"extra-large-top-margin wp-block-heading\">Importance de l\u2019industrie des engrais au Canada<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-extra-large-font-size\">Fertilizers are a key ingredient used by farmers in the production of our food. The companies that make fertilizers are a major part of the Canadian manufacturing sector, and play an important role in the Canadian economy. The industry actively promotes responsible use of its products and supports efforts to maintain environmental stewardship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group card with-icon\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"40\" height=\"33\" src=\"https:\/\/fertilizercanada.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/05\/95-Exported-Icon-1.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10523\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-green-color has-text-color h5 wp-block-heading\">Une importante ressource\u2026<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>L\u2019industrie des engrais produit environ 24 millions de tonnes d\u2019azote, de potasse, de phosphate et de soufre chaque ann\u00e9e dans des installations figurant parmi les plus s\u00e9curitaires et les plus perfectionn\u00e9es au monde du point de vue technologique. Sa contribution annuelle \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9conomie canadienne se chiffre \u00e0 12 milliards de dollars, et les ventes \u00e0 la ferme sont \u00e9valu\u00e9es \u00e0 environ 4,2 milliards de dollars par an. Le Canada exporte des engrais et du mat\u00e9riel connexe dans plus de 80 pays ainsi que 95 pour cent de la potasse qu\u2019il produit.<\/li><li>Au Canada, l\u2019industrie des engrais fournit plus de 12 000 emplois directs bien pay\u00e9s \u00e0 des personnes hautement qualifi\u00e9es, comme des ing\u00e9nieurs, des scientifiques et des commer\u00e7ants, qui travaillent dans les mines, les usines de production, les laboratoires et les points de vente de fournitures agricoles.
