Codes of Practice

Ensuring fertilizer safety requires standardized Codes of Practice and a coordinated effort among all industry stakeholders.

The Canadian fertilizer industry champions industry-led, world-class Codes of Practice to manage the risks of fertilizer products through their life-cycle. These Codes of Practice are mandatory for members of Fertilizer Canada.

Ammonium Nitrate

Ammonium Nitrate is a valuable fertilizer that helps produce healthy food for Canadians, but it must be handled responsibly.

Anhydrous Ammonia

Anhydrous Ammonia is a highly effective fertilizer that helps farmers feed our growing population and replenish nutrients in the soil. As a fertilizer, it provides essential nitrogen for plants and is imperative that proper precautions are taken to ensure that it is handled correctly.

Calcium Ammonium Nitrate

Calcium Ammonium Nitrate is a fertilizer that combines the two assimilable Nitrogen forms with the Calcium. With many common features with Ammonium Nitrate and additional Calcium, Calcium Ammonium Nitrate is one of the best fertilizers for cereals.
