In February of this year, 50 CCAs sat down to write the 4R Nutrient Management Speciality certification course in Ontario. The course, which was launched as a collaboration by Fertilizer Canada and the Canadian Certified Crop Advisor Association, provides formal, recognized training to CCAs to ensure Ontario farmers receive trusted information about 4R Nutrient Stewardship as a practical tool to enhance profitability and environmental sustainability.
Of the 50 CCAs who wrote the test in February, 40 passed (this is an 80 per cent pass rate) and joined other CCAs who are 4R Nutrient Management Speciality certified. To date, there are 89 CCAs with the speciality in Ontario.
