Statement from Michael Bourque, President and CEO, Fertilizer Canada
Fertilizer Canada appreciates the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s notice that it will pause bulk labelling requirements under the modernized Fertilizer Regulations until July, 2027. This will allow for further collaboration with industry to meet the stated goals of reducing regulatory burden, increasing clarity, and supporting information access and transparency.
Between now and the fall, Fertilizer Canada will work in collaboration with officials to align regulatory practices and enforcement with the operational realities of the fertilizer supply chain.
We look forward to continuing to work with the CFIA to enable the competitiveness of Canadian farmers while supporting the federal government’s goal of reducing costly red tape.
